Digital photography cruise with professional photographer on board

21st April – 28th April: Digital Photography Cruise, With Professional photographer onboard.

This will be a 7 day 6 night cruise with photographer James Moritmer onboard. He will be showing you how to get the best out of your camera, and how to frame the best shots. In the evenings we will discuss the following day’s photo shoot and look at  and discuss the photos already taken.

This adventure will start at 5pm 21stApril in Oban from the new town centre pontoons, just a short walk from the bus and train station. Following crew introductions and a safety briefing, we will set off on a short evening sail so that everyone gets to know each other and the boat. After dinner and with respect for the forecast, we will discuss our passage plans, whether we go south about or north about. Either way, we expect to visit some very interesting anchorages such as Puilladobhrain (pool of the otter) on the Isle of Seil for the first night. The  following day we will head south to Easdale and then on out to the Slate Isles , weather permitting landing on the island of Belnahua with its fascinating runined village and flooded slate quarries. We will then visit the Black Isles and the Garvellachs (Isles of the sea) unfortunately the anchorage  here is too exposed to stay overnight, so depending on the wind direction we might anchor in pigs bay at  the north end of Jura , or head to Ardinamir on the east side of Luing. Next Day it will be off to play in the Gulf of Corryvreckan between Scarba and the north end of Jura where the tide reaches  8.5 Knots and  backward rearing over falls can reach 4 meters in height, but can double that height in strong westerly wind ( in which case we will stay well clear) later in the day we will head over to Tinkers’ Hole on the Ross of Mull where we will spend the night, Iona and Staffa, Ulva and the Treshnish Isles becon for the following days photo shoot with an overnight stop on the Island of Coll  Next Day will take us north to the to the anchorage of Sorisdale bay for lunch, in the afternoon  it will be off to Kilhoan on the Ardnamurchan  peninsula  before heading to colourful town of Tobermorry for the night. Next day will see us spend time ashore before heading off to the wonderfully named anchorage in loch Drumbuie which sits behind the Island of Oransay at the mouth of Loch Sunart  after lunch and some time ashore we will make our way down the sound of Mull to Loch Aline for the final night of our trip and on Friday we will make our way to Oban passing the Glas Eileanan (Grey Isles ) Duart Castel and Lismore Light House. This cruise will end around  lunchtime on the 28th in Oban.
